Avangate Teams Up with PayNearMe to Help Software Vendors Reach Millions of US Shoppers
Software Buyers Can Order Products Online and Pay with Cash at 6,200 7-Eleven Stores
AMSTELVEEN, The Netherlands–Avangate, a full-service provider of eCommerce and partner-management solutions for software vendors, announced today the integration of a payment application from PayNearMe, the cash payment network, enabling consumers to pay for software purchased online with cash at nearly 6,200 7-Eleven stores across the U.S.
Avangate is the first eCommerce provider for the software industry to implement this payment method.
Through this integration, Avangate makes it possible for software companies to provide products and services to a potential market of up to 60 million US households that do not have a debit or credit card or consumers who simply prefer to pay with cash. Orders are placed at vendors’ online stores, via secure pages powered by Avangate, with payment taking place at 7-Eleven stores. Avangate is notified of consumers’ payments immediately, and transactions are completed automatically, including the delivery of the software products instantly via email.
“We are continuing our efforts to localize the Avangate ordering interface for numerous countries and regions to assist software companies entering new markets and increase revenue in existing ones,” said Adriana Iordan, Product Management Officer at Avangate. “The implementation of local payment methods is one facet of this process that proves time and time again to boost conversion rates. In a world led by cards and electronic payments, cash still has a word to say which cannot be ignored,”
“PayNearMe has proven the ideal partner for this opportunity in the US market: integration is seamless and operations are transparent to us and our clients.” added Iordan. “The vast network of 7-Eleven stores that PayNearMe brings to the relationship provides an easy and convenient way for people to pay for the software they want to buy online, which they may not find elsewhere,”
“Software distribution continues to move online, which makes maintaining an offline payment channel increasingly difficult,” said John Minor, head of product at PayNearMe. “Avangate is a natural partner for PayNearMe, as our payment platform allows for funds to be delivered to software vendors risk-free, and also allows for real-time notification of payment. With PayNearMe, software vendors working with Avangate can serve the sizable market of individuals who need to or prefer to pay with cash.”
